Loss and Recovery

For whatever reason, this experience made me think of the many losses we all go through--- some of them we can replace, most of them not. Some of them too suddenly, some of them, slowly, over time. Many of us bookmark points of time in our lives by our circumstances when a tragic, and sudden loss occurs.

And - finding them in their own element,  free of care, following the natural order of life -- was simply breathtaking.  There was clearly a natural order, and each of them had a natural purpose.  It was so simple, so beautiful, and so timeless…

Casablanca... the legend

Today, I walked around Casablanca, in Morocco, and dined at Rick's Cafe with my husband. To complete the ambiance as if in the movie, the Cafe's resident piano player delivered a beautiful rendition of the movie's theme song, "As Time Goes By" as we were having dinner. If only I were Lauren Bacall, and my husband, Humphrey Bogart! :)

Easter in the "Islands"

There wasn't much rigor nor precision in anything we did this weekend.  And yet, in many ways, it was reminiscent of happy days gone by.  Of tolerance, love and caring and acceptance for each other, made even more special from knowing that these precious moments of being together as a family are now rare and not easy to come by…
